Hours and Admission
The LEVEL Centre is open from 10am-4pm. Check the What’s On page for extended opening times for special events.
Tickets for events should be pre-booked to guarantee entry but can be paid for on the door. To reserve tickets in advance call 01629 734848 or email email@example.com – and at the same time join our mailing and save 5% on the door price.
Exhibitions are free for all, although as we are a registered charity donations are always welcome.
Rowsley is on the A6, approximately 5 miles north of Matlock and 3 miles south of Bakewell. Sat Nav users should key in the postcode DE4 2EL.
From the North, take the A6 Manchester to Derby road and follow signs to Bakewell. From Bakewell continue on the A6 signposted to Matlock/Buxton. After approximately 3 miles turn right into Old Station Close.
From the South, take the A6 from Derby and follow signs to Matlock. At Matlock stay on the A6 and follow the signs to Buxton/Manchester. After approximately 4 miles turn left into Old Station Close.
There are excellent train links via Matlock and Chesterfield stations. Rowsley is served by three main bus services: the Transpeak operating between Manchester, Buxton, Derby and Nottingham; Trent Barton 6.1 between Derby, Wirksworth, Matlock and Bakewell; and TM Travel 214 between Sheffield and Matlock. The nearest train station is Matlock, from which you will need to pick up the Transpeak or 6.1 Trent Barton bus or a taxi. For current bus service information please see www.travelline.co.uk.

There are a two designated disabled parking spaces in the forecourt of the LEVEL Centre with clearance space for oversized vehicles. Please reserve your disabled parking bay in advance. There is also a drop off point in the forecourt and there is a free public car park a short stroll away. The LEVEL Centre has level access from the forecourt and throughout the building. Please do not park on the road in Old Station Close or anywhere else in Rowsley, as access is needed at all times for the other businesses in the area and for emergency vehicles.
The LEVEL Centre is on one floor with no stairs or steps and is fully accessible to wheelchair users with an accessible entrance.
There is an infrared hearing system for visitors with compatible hearing aid system and neck loops are available for visitors in the Centre office.
There are several excellent facilities for eating in Rowsley just a few minutes’ walk away from the LEVEL Centre.
Other places well worth a visit are gallerytop, the Derwent Gallery, the Old Station Gallery and Cauldwell’s Mill. Haddon Hall and Chatsworth are also close by.
