Salary: £24,000  per annum 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional evening, weekend and bank holiday working may be required in return for time off in lieu.

Annual leave: 25 days a year plus bank holidays 

Job Purpose: The Engagement and Projects Coordinator will develop, manage and increase engagement for Level’s projects and events.

Job description:

The Engagement and Projects Coordinator will contribute to the effective delivery of LEVEL Centre’s projects and programmes to reach a wide range of participants, artists, audiences and organisations. 

The Engagement and Projects Coordinator is a role critical to contributing to the effective delivery, promotion and communication of LEVEL Centre’s engagement projects and programmes to engage a wide range of participants, artists, audiences and organisations. 

This role puts LEVEL’s  engagement and outreach at its core, requiring someone who puts access at the heart of decisions. We are looking for someone who is multi-skilled at devising, delivering and  implementing a varied programme with our community and artists and has an interest in performing, visual or digital contemporary art. 

The chosen candidate will develop and manage all of  LEVEL’s programmes and projects, implementing appropriate strategies and resources to effectively increase engagement for its projects and events.

This role works closely with the LEVEL Executive Director to devise, implement, resource and realise LEVEL’s artistic engagement ambitions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and delivery of all engagement work 
  • Manage and monitor the LEVEL Makes programme for learning disabled people
  • Engage with participants, freelancers and artists
  • Line manage freelance artists and facilitators
  • Manage the DBS process, procedure and monitoring
  • Be the safeguarding lead supported by designated board member 
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) enhanced check
  • Foster good working relationships with external agencies, organisations and services to achieve high quality, creative project delivery 
  • Develop and nurture relationships with external partners and maintain networks
  • Identify and co-design opportunities to engage communities, liaising with community leaders 
  • Prepare and monitor risk assessments for all activities
  • Disseminate information regarding opportunities
  • Develop engagement opportunities with Residency Artists 
  • Collect and monitor data for use in evaluation and monitoring
  • Contribute to fundraising applications
  • Prepare engagement activity report for the Board 
  • Develop a robust volunteering programme

Other Duties:

  • Work flexibly across the LEVEL team where required 
  • Attend relevant meetings and participate in training and other forms of staff development as required
  • Events management when required
  • Represent the Executive Director if and when required
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post 

Budgetary Responsibility:

  • Monitoring and overview of designated budgets

Personal qualities:

A hard-working, honest, dependable, self-motivated person to act as LEVEL Centre’s Engagement and Projects coordinator, willing to uphold and support the aims and values of Level Centre.

Essential Experience and skills:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to deal calmly, confidently and positively with people at all levels, both in face to face meetings and over the telephone
  • Excellent written skills and the ability to convey a compelling narrative to a wide range of audiences
  • Proven administration and organisational ability
  • Full Driving Licence

Desirable Experience and skills:

 

  • Experience of working within an arts or cultural environment
  • Experience of working with learning disabled people

Terms & Conditions:

Salary: £24,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. 

The core business hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm. Occasional evening, weekend and bank holiday working may be required in return for time off in lieu.

Holiday: 25 days per annum, plus bank holidays 

Pension:
The Company operates an auto enrolment pension scheme deferred for 3 months from joining the Company with Nest. The contributions to this scheme are in line with the current minimum requirement and are based on qualifying earnings. Further information can be found at: www.nestpension.org.uk

Probation: 3 months

Notice period: One week during probationary period and two months thereafter
