LEVEL has just produced a series of related Light Sculptures providing interactive and engaging environments for participants on the Participate + Create Programme.
These have been created in the large event space using suspended wire and EL Lighting together with floor projection and performances with wearable LED lights.
The lights can be twisted, shaped and stretched across the space to create a variety of sculptural forms and potential performance spaces.
The light sculptures also provide an fantastic subject for long exposure, performance photography and digital image, allowing participants to use digital cameras to draw with the light and project these images back into the environment.
Each sculpture has created a distinct environment and performance atmosphere leading to a variety of titles and names for each one – for example: 12 Angels and Cascade. Over the next three weeks, much more will be developed and we hope to have a full report on this project available soon.
