What’s happening this term?
This term the group theme is “Our Place in Space”, a visual arts exploration from the huge swathes of the cosmos down to the tiny details on our skin! Together with artist facilitator Helen Jackson, LEVEL Makes are using a whole host of different artistic techniques to find out more about the beauty of our universe, and what our place is within it.
Timeline
September-December 2024: Touring the universe with big mark-making using acrylic paint, canvas, oil painting, sculpture work and much more:
In terms one and two, the group will use different big techniques to look into the colour, the shape and the patterns in the universe. They’ll make large scale works together and separately across canva and plastics, and get messy while adventuring through different artistic techniques.
January 2025 – April 2025: Digital play to find out more about our world and its environment using digital painting, stop motion animation techniques and much more:
In terms three and four, the group will start to look at our natural world and build their own storytelling techniques into some digital art. Using tablets, sketch software and stop animation, they’ll build the world where they exist alongside nature, and let their imagination run wild.
May 2025 – July 2025: What’s my space in this place?:
Getting into the detail of what makes us who we are with fine mark-making, macro art and little magic moments.
