It’s not very often in my little autistic life I feel empowered, enabled and included like this. Being able to self-lead on connecting to myself and my practice has been transformative. I didn’t intend to have much of an outcome but I feel really clear on my next steps and my career progression – simply from a few thoughtful days in the middle of nowhere!

Kao Hove (aka kaoti)

Kao Hove (aka kaoti) is a multidisciplinary artist, spanning across music, theatre, dance and poetry. They are a Factory International Fellow 2023, Manchester Independent Artist 2023, Graeae Beyond Artist 23-25, and BBC Word’s First Artist 2022.

Through this residency, they will explore and develop their piece “Senti(mental)” which is their first EP and poetry collection turned into a theatre/live performance piece. It integrates creative access, projection, movement, poetry and music, exploring their personal journey and wider non-male experience in the mental health / neurodivergent treatment / recovery / medical systems.
