LEVEL is a contemporary Arts Centre in Rowsley, Derbyshire supported by Arts Council England. We’re a vibrant hub for creativity and community engagement, dedicated to fostering inclusivity and artistic expression for people of all abilities. Our centre is open to the public year round with a packed programme of visual arts exhibitions, digital installations, events and workshops. We deliver projects for our disabled and learning disabled creative community, SEN schools and day centres. We have a Youth Collective programme for young people who are autistic and/or neurodivergent, and a creative programme for home schooled young people or those out of mainstream education.

Role Overview:
The Engagement & Projects Coordinator will provide essential administrative support to our project activities, ensuring smooth operation and effective communication across teams. You will work closely with, and be line managed by our Engagement & Projects Producer. Alongside our Arts Administrator and Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining project documentation, monitoring designated budgets, and facilitating communication between project stakeholders. Our work spans across various projects that connect across visual, digital and performing arts. We are currently developing a biodiverse sensory art garden, promoting well-being through community gardening and creative activities. This role requires a proactive, organised individual with a passion for the arts and the environment and a commitment to inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Assist in the coordination and administration of various arts and environmental projects, ensuring all documentation is accurately maintained and updated.
- Budget Monitoring: Track and report on designated project budgets, ensuring financial resources are used efficiently and within allocated limits.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related inquiries, facilitating clear and timely communication between staff, participants, and external partners. Liaising with SEN schools, day centres, community and environmental groups and more.
- Documentation: Prepare and manage project documentation, including meeting minutes, reports, and other relevant materials. Develop resources and education packs.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with staff, participants, and external partners.
- Event Support: Assist with the planning and execution of events, workshops, and other project-related activities.
- Safeguarding: Oversee and monitor DBS requirements.
- Inclusivity: Work inclusively with all members of the community, including people with additional needs and disabilities, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Gardening Support: While not essential, an interest in gardening would be beneficial, as projects will involve outdoor activities related to biodiversity.
Skills:
- Administrative Experience: Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within an arts or community-focused organisation.
- Budget Management: Experience in monitoring and reporting on budgets.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Interpersonal Skills: A collaborative and inclusive approach to working with colleagues, participants, and external partners.
- Interest in the Arts & Environment: A genuine interest in the arts and environmental initiatives. While gardening experience is not required, a passion for the outdoors is desirable.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address challenges and resolve issues that may arise in the coordination of projects and activities.

- Represent Level Centre externally when required

Terms & Conditions:
LEVEL Centre: LEVEL Centre is a contemporary Arts Venue. The core business hours are Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm. There will be occasional activities that take place in the evenings and weekends. These hours will be discussed and agreed in advance and time off in lieu will be offered.

Occasional evening, weekend and bank holiday working may be required
Holiday: 12 days per year plus Bank Holidays on a pro rata basis.
Pension Scheme: The Company operates an auto enrolment pension scheme deferred for 3 months from joining the Company with Nest. Probation: Three months
Notice: One week during probationary period and 4 weeks thereafter
