Farrell Cox

Farrell Cox is a theatre maker, telling stories inspired by lived experience, centering black, queer and disabled people.

Residency plans:

I’ll be working on developing a show for young people ‘don’t yuck my yum’ an original story inspired by of my Jamaican grandparents and the memories of being in their garden full of vibrant produce. Aiming to blend cultural exploration with the joy of learning and teaching young people the etymology of foods. Alongside this, the work discusses the parallels between dementia and climate change. How things which were once familiar may become harder to recognise or access but can remain powerful even if memory fades, just as cultural knowledge and community practices can change. Through the grandchild’s journey, the work emphasises the importance of carrying forward stories, traditions and care for both.
