Inside Outside

Inside Outside is a contemporary visual art exhibition by our LEVEL Makes participants. Led by
artist facilitator Helen Jackson, the group explored the magic of nature that surrounds LEVEL Centre.
Through rubbings, sketching, collage, painting, and pastel techniques, they produced a body of work focusing on trees, sky and clouds. Each piece reflects participants individual artistic style, highlighting details of particular interest, and using preferred colours, textures and materials.
The project offered some great opportunities for short field trips around LEVEL Centre, observingand sketching the surroundings. LEVEL Makes invite you to engage with and enjoy our natural environment, both here in the exhibition, and once you leave!

Inside Outside is on display in the Gallery Corridor at Level Centre from 11 September 2024 – 8 January 2025.
Open Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. Entry is free, no need to book in advance. Our building is accessible but please contact us if you would like to discuss your visit and the Team will be happy to help.

About: LEVEL Makes
LEVEL Makes are our workshops that explore creativity and expression for learning disabled adults.
Led by artist facilitator Helen Jackson, our Visual Art group comes together every Monday afternoon at LEVEL Centre. Each term they work on a different project, creating multiple artworks that are then curated for exhibition at LEVEL Centre and further afield.
Helen Jackson is a visual artist with a background in applied and participatory art. Helen’s own work explores layers and transparency, through the materials she uses and the themes of identity and reflection. She works across many creative practices, including sculpting, mark making, drawing, illustration and digital imagery.
