LEVEL Youth Collective

LEVEL Youth Collective is our creative group for young people who are neurodivergent, have autism or ADHD.

We explore a range of different contemporary arts experiences away from the pressures of school or home to give young people space and time to develop their interests and confidence.

Participants get the chance to work with different artists, materials and digital equipment, and take part in bigger projects throughout the year which are shaped by the young people in the Collective. The group will work towards a creative outcome that will be decided amongst the participants and, depending on the project, their work will be displayed in public exhibitions.

Youth Collective has become an important space for young people to socialise with their peers who have similar lived experiences, so we keep places limited. Sessions are free to attend (a voluntary £5 donation is welcomed) and run from 5pm-6:30pm on Mondays.

    Water and Wellbeing Project

‘Water and Wellbeing’ is a two-year funded programme supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Our Youth Collective will be exploring local Derbyshire Dales heritage while celebrating traditional craftsmanship in a thoroughly modern way.

The ‘Water and Wellbeing’ project will delve into Derbyshire’s rich history which revolves around water – from the development of the mills to the growth of tourism. The creative practices they’ll experience with our artists and tutors link directly to this, and the group will explore how to use techniques such as traditional printing and claywork to interpret their own vision of what the local area means to them today. This will inspire a display of work by Youth Collective, held at LEVEL Centre and Bakewell Old House Museum!
