The Big Draw Open Day 2025

The Big Draw Festival is the world’s largest celebration of drawing, bringing people together through the power of creativity!

On Saturday 25 October, we’ll be exploring this years theme ‘Drawn Together’, celebrating how creativity unites us and how collaboration and connection are at the heart of making. Drop in with your family and friends from 11am-3pm to get involved with all our free, fun activities. Let your imagination loose and enjoy getting creative together!

‘Wishing Well’ our wonderful new interactive installation will be open too – drop in and be transported to the imaginary village of Levelover, a world filled with characters, visuals and animations! You can even design your own mini Well Dressing.

Let’s doodle together!

Dive into our giant LEVEL doodle pad and draw together with artist Helen! Using one continuous line on one massive sheet of paper – see how far you can draw and how your design connects with someone elses! Help us create one giant drawing with lots of different artists – let’s doodle!

Curious creatures!

Fancy getting felty? Build your new best friend in our curious creatures workshop with Kirsty – add features, buttons, fabric or sparkles – and then draw a magical world for them to live inside! At the end of the day, don’t forget to take your new pal on a journey home with you!

Pairs portraits!

Find your inner Picasso with Hannah! From our portrait studio (or meeting room), pair up and try out different types of wacky portrait techniques! Add crazy features, your favourite colours, even a new hairstyle… to create an totally unique version of yourself, your family or friends! Decorate your own frame and take your masterpiece home to put on display!

Become a street artist!

Visit our wonderful Biodiverse Sensory Garden and become a street artist for the day with Ginny! Decorate our floor with chalk drawings and doodle on our mirrors… what will you create? A new flower or insect? A big sunshine to remind us of summer? Or something out of this world to give everyone a big surprise!

Wishing Well!

Our new interactive installation Wishing Well is open all day – no need to book! Wishing Well is a fun, sensory and peaceful space, filled with characters, visuals and animations! Be transported to the imaginary world of ‘Levelover’, and help our villagers create a beautiful digital Well Dressing!

On the day you can also visit our latest Gallery Corridor exhibitions, and there might even be an outdoor bubble machine to enjoy! There’s lots to do and something for everyone… we can’t wait to see you!
