The Big Give

LEVEL is a specialist arts centre that celebrates the art that ‘difference’ makes. Everything we do has a value, going beyond creativity to offer experiences that make a difference. For many years, we’ve been a platform for disabled people to explore their potential and improve their wellbeing.

GLISTEN Fest

Having Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) can be isolating, especially in rural areas where there’s few specialist events or groups that can support you. Your donation will help us to establish GLISTEN Fest as an annual sensory arts festival that inspires individual creativity, supports wellbeing and creates memories with family, friends, and carers.

Our first GLISTEN Fest took place in September 2023 and we’d like this to continue in 2024 and beyond.

GLISTEN Fest will:

• be a new annual Derbyshire Festival 
• have a programme specifically designed for audiences with Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities, and Learning Disabilities, plus their carers, families and friends
• provide opportunities for specialist artists to showcase their work 
• be a safe space for parents, carers and support staff to connect and unwind, while sharing experiences with those they care for
• give parents and carers the chance to create memories with those they care for and socialise with others in similar positions
• improve attendees wellbeing and support connectivity across the region. 

GLISTEN Fest will give those with PMLD and their families a chance to come together, share together, building bonds beyond their own network.

In September we were lucky enough to receive pledges of funding that totalled £1000. This allowed us to unlock additional match funds through a ‘Champion’ sourced by the Big Give, giving us a total of £2000 in match funds.

Now we need your help!

We need to raise £2000 in donations during the Big Give Christmas campaign to be able to use these match funds. Donations can only be given online for 7 days between 12pm on 28 November and 12pm on 5 December 2023.

The minimum donation is £1. Any donation that you give will be doubled using the match funding that we’ve already secured. One donation, twice the impact. 

Any donation will help us bring a unique sensory festival to Derbyshire.
