TreeScape

23 January – 28 March 2025

Welcome to ‘TreeScape’, an immersive natural world where you can grow your own idyllic woodland, and explore it through the seasons, relaxing in the sights and sounds of nature. Watch as animals, birds, plants and insects inhabit your ecosystem and discover the beauty and importance of trees, learning as you play!

Created by digital artist and game developer Henry Driver, alongside a diverse team of rurally based young people aged 18-21, TreeScape is an ambitious project with real world impact. In 2024, 500 trees were planted while in 2025 at least 10,000 more trees, and multiple wildflower meadows will be planted through partnership with farms, schools and colleges.

Come along and experience this stunning exhibition for yourselves, and grasp the opportunity to learn more about the wonderful, natural world that surrounds us!

TreeScape is suitable for everyone including school groups and families. An education pack for schools is available from LEVEL Centre. TreeScape was developed with support from Eastern Education Group, EU Social Fund, and the UK Government.

Creators: Henry Driver and a Rural Student Collective

Henry Driver is a digital artist and game developer. He creates projects that connect us to our environment and presents achievable responses to climate change.

Henry says: “My aim is to create projects which connect us to our environment, as well as combat the climate crisis by presenting achievable responses to this. Coming from a farming family, I have witnessed the effects of climate change, as they ravage harvests. It was from experiencing this, that in 2019, I decided to solely focus on the environment.”

Henry has shown work across the world and his videos have been broadcast in over 40 countries. While in the UK he has shown at numerous galleries including Tate Liverpool, Tate Britain, Whitechapel and Barbican.

The stunning artwork you will see inside TreeScape was created by students and alumni from West Suffolk College and University, with direction from Henry. All of the young people who took part were rurally based, and from various backgrounds, including special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The project is providing a wonderful opportunity for them to get involved in real world game development and gain valuable experience.
